Copyright Agency First Nations Fellowships

Thank you to the 21 First Nations writers who applied for a 2019 Copyright Agency First Nations Fellowship.

Our assessors spent many weeks reading these submissions, and commented on the number of highly original works that were submitted. In particular, there was an unusually high number of poetry submissions this year. It was a very competitive process, and we would like to thank all who applied.

The five writers who have been chosen for a fellowship are:

Yvette Holt for the poetry collection Hands of My Mother

Angelina Hurley for the script Black Beatles

Raelee Lancaster for the poetry collection Crush

Jazz Money for the poetry collection Halcyon

Morgan-Lee Snell for the poetry collection Oi, Cunt

We look forward to welcoming these writers at Varuna in June.
