Six places are available in a week-long online fellowships for writers living in the Northern Territory, offering mentorship, professional development and opportunities for peer feedback.

Who should apply: Emerging or established writers living in the Northern Territory


Presented in partnership with the Northern Territory Government through Arts NT, six online fellowships will be available to writers living in the Northern Territory.

The online fellowship program will include:

  • Two one-hour online sessions (one-on-one) with Varuna writing consultant, playwright and poet Mary Anne Butler.

  • Two online Q&A sessions with experienced writers.

  • Daily facilitated professional networking opportunities throughout the week, including the opportunity to share work, talk about process, and receive feedback.

Virtual residency participants need to allow at least two hours at specific times every day for programmed sessions, with the expectation that participants will spend at least three hours dedicated writing time each day.
