Mascara Writers' and Editors' Residency
Mascara Literary Review is delighted to announce the inaugural Mascara Varuna Writers’ and Editors’ Residency. The call out is open to First Nations and Culturally and Linguistically Diverse (CaLD) writers who have a manuscript in fiction, poetry, or creative nonfiction. The judges are multi-award winning Bundjalung author Melissa Lucashenko and poet and critic Lucy Van.
In partnership with Varuna, The Writer’s House, the Copyright Agency and the Adès Family Foundation, this is an exciting opportunity for four emerging or established writers who identify as First Nations or CaLD. The winners will receive an all-expenses paid, fully catered residency at Varuna in the Blue Mountains. A manuscript reading by a Senior Editor and mentored emerging editor is included. Travel costs will be paid if you are interstate (flights, and or road travel as required).
This will be a week of writing, editing, readings and mentoring to prepare the selected manuscripts for publication.
