The Denmark Arts Varuna Writer's Fellowship
The Denmark Arts Varuna Writer’s Fellowship for writers in the Great Southern Region of WA or Shire of Manjinup offers:
Two weeks of full board and accommodation at Varuna including:
uninterrupted time to write in your own private studio
the companionship of your fellow writers
all meals, including a chef who comes in each evening to prepare your evening meal
one-year membership of Varuna alumni.
The Fellowship also includes $500 towards travel costs. In addition, Varuna will offer a $300 travel subsidy for any successful applicant who holds a valid Health Care Card.
What Denmark Arts are looking for:
Denmark Arts welcome manuscripts at any stage of development from writers currently living in the Great Southern Region of WA or the Shire of Manjimup who are at any point in their career, and working in any form of literary creation. This includes children’s books, drama, fiction, graphic novels, narrative non-fiction, poetry and screenplays.
Key dates
Applications for the 2021 Denmark Arts Varuna Writer’s Fellowship will open in July and close on August 31.
A panel of two Western Australian assessors will establish a shortlist of three entries, and Varuna will make the final choice between the three shortlisted entries.
The winner will be announced in October 2021.
The Fellowship can be taken any time between Jan and July 2022, with the exact date to be negotiated between the recipient and Varuna.

There is a $25 entry fee to help contribute to administration and reading fees
