Copyright Agency First Nations Fellowships Results

Thank you to the 22 First Nations writers who applied for a 2020 Copyright Agency First Nations Fellowship.

Our assessors spent many weeks reading these submissions, and commented on the number of highly original works that were submitted. It was a very competitive process, and we would like to thank all who applied.

The five writers who have been chosen for a fellowship are:

Gary Lonesborough for his YA fiction Joyride

Travis De Vries for his fiction work Mythopoeic

Jeanine Leane for her fiction Kambera

Mykaela Saunders for her short story collection Goori-futurism

Alison Whittaker for her series of novellas WTNS

We look forward to welcoming these writers at Varuna in June.

We would also like to highly commend the submissions from Samia Goudie, Emma Hicks, Meaghan Holt, Maria van Neerven, Charles Passi and Aileen Walsh.
