Temporary Closure of Varuna

In response to COVID-19 and in accordance with government advice, Varuna will close temporarily to writers in residence from Monday 23 March 2020.

We are in touch with all of the artists and organisations due to work with us this autumn and winter and will monitor the situation closely, reopening as soon as we can. Residencies planned for the next few weeks have been postponed and we will continue to update all of the artists, partners and funders involved on the status of our program as this situation evolves.

Varuna’s staff team will still be working during this time and can be contacted as usual via varuna@varuna.com.au and via staff members’ direct emails. Our monthly newsletters and social media posts will continue.

Varuna’s program of events and workshops during this period is also cancelled. However, we are exploring ways of developing programs for writers online and will make further announcements very soon.
