Val Vallis Award for Poetry

The Val Vallis Award for Poetry is a national award supporting outstanding Australian poetry and is part of the Varuna Residential Partnerships, building partnerships that encourage diversity and access in Australian writing. It is administered by Queensland Poetry Festival.

Named in honor of distinguished Queensland poet Val Vallis, the Arts Queensland Val Vallis Award for Unpublished Poetry is committed to encouraging poets throughout Australia. The award includes a one week residency at Varuna and $1,000 cash prize.

The winner of the 2014 Val Vallis Award for an Unpublished Poem is Chloe Wilson (Vic)

The winner of the 2013 Val Vallis Award for an Unpublished Poem is B.R. Dionysius for Protein Gradients (QLD)

The winner of the 2012 Val Vallis Award for an Unpublished Poem was Chloe Wilson for The Heads of Holofernes (VIC).
