Australian-Indonesian Writing Exchange: Tulis 2018

Tulis 2018: A writing exchange between Indonesia and Australia has received grant funding from the Australia-Indonesia Institute of the Department of Foreign Affairs and Trade.

Varuna is thrilled to announce this new two-way Australian-Indonesian writing exchange Tulis (Indonesian for 'to write').Tulis (Tool-is) will be held in in partnership with Asialink Arts, WestWords, and Indonesia's Komunitas Salihara and Ubud Writers & Readers Festival.

The WestWords Varuna Western Sydney Residential Program offers the opportunity of a six-day residency at Varuna, mentored by editor Elena Gomez from Text Publishing.

The Griffith REVIEW Contributers' Circle Award is facilitated by Griffith REVIEW and supported by Varuna, the Writers’ House.

The Val Vallis Award for Poetry is a national award supporting outstanding Australian poetry and is part of the Varuna Residential Partnerships, building partnerships that encourage diversity and access in Australian writing. It is administered by Queensland Poetry Festival.

The NSW Writers’ Centre Residency is an annual program for a writer who has a manuscript, play or suite of poems that is ready for the next stage of development and is part of the Varuna Residential Partnerships.

The Ray Koppe Young Writers' Residency for associate members of the Australian Society of Authors (ASA) is part of the Varuna Residential Partnerships.
