The Writer's Space Fellowship 2023

Congratulations to the 12 recipients of our The Writer’s Space Fellowship 2023 program. Thank you to everyone who applied.

Our program assessors commented, "All of these works showed a resounding commitment to craft, which made our jobs tremendously difficult as judges—and yet, there were a few highlights. Lines we simply couldn’t get out of our heads. Characters and plots that returned to us in our dreams… Undoubtedly this Fellowship will help produce some astounding work while supporting some astounding writers, and we’d like to thank everyone who submitted for doing so—it was an honour reading your work. We’d also like to thank the tireless efforts of the Varuna staff, whom without, such an important program would not exist.”
